The Information of John Sankey< no role > of Queen Street
Rotherhithe in the County of Surrey Labourer
and Charles Earle< no role > of the Parish of Saint Mary
White Chapel in the County of Middlesex
Labourer taken on Oath before me John Staples< no role >
Esqr . one of His Majesty's Justices of the Peace
in and for the said County the 22d, day of
May 1782.

And first this Informant John sankey< no role >
Who being upon Oath saith that Yesterday being the 21st.
day of may Inst. as he was walking over London Bridge in
his way home to Rotherhith he was Accosted by the Prisoner
Elizabeth James< no role > now presentandwho pretended to know
him and was Prevailed on by her to take a Walk That
he went with her from place to Place till they came
to Stepney that they went into a Publick House there
and had two Pots of All That while they were drinking
said All he this Informant being Weary fell into a
Dose and felt a hand Drawing his Watch out of his
Pocket [..] with which he awaked and saw the Prisoner
Put his said Watch into her Bosem that he endeavoured
to perswade her to return it but she refused and being
a Stranger was afraid to make a Disturbance in a Strange
Place That wen he this Informant pulled out his Money
to Pay the Reckoning the Prisoner Snatched out of his
hand one half Crown piece and one Shilling in Silver
the Monies of this Informant and put it in her Pocket
and refused to return it back. That he this Informant
and the Prisoner came out of the Publick House at
Stepney and she yet refused to deliver to him his Watch
or Money he went with her towards White Chapel and
at last she The said Elizabeth James< no role > Attempted to run away from him
up an Alley in White Chapel [..] that he followed
her and [..] Stopped her (on this the Watchman came
