Who being upon Oath say, and first the said Philip Mills< no role >
says
that in Consequence of the Shop of the [..]
robbed lately, of different Quantities of Iron, he between the hours of
nine and ten oClock last Night, in order to detect the Thief, placed
himself upon a Forge in the said Mr. Allens Shop, at which time a
person now presents who calls himself Edward Dixon< no role >
was in the
Necessary in the said ShopThat when said Dixon came out of
the Necessary he walked two or three times about the Shop and on going
out took a Bar of Iron now produced out of the said Shop and
carried it away [..] under his CoatThat he pursued him and took
him in Nields Passage Seven Dials
And the said Richard Walker< no role >
says that when the said Philip Mills< no role >
apprehended the said Dixon, he
felt under his Coat and found the said Bar of Iron which he delivered
to the said George Pritchard< no role >
And the said George Pritchard< no role >
says
that when said Dixon was taken to Saint Martins
Watch House
he went with him and delivered the said Bar of Iron to the said
Thomas Bell< no role >
And the said Thomas Bell< no role >
says that the Bar of
Iron delivered to his Care as aforesaid, is the Bar of Iron now
produced, and has remained in his Custody ever since it was
delivered to him.
