The Information of Thomas Wainman< no role > of Tavistock Court
Covent Garden Painter taken before me this 9th. day
of January 1782

Who being upon Oath saiththat as he was passing along
the Passage leading to Drury Lane Theatre this Evening a person now present who
calls himself Giles Hawling was standing within the Passage
That he felt the said Hawling's Hand in this Informants Pocket
(at which time he had in his said Pocket nine shillings and
six pence) on which he charged the aid Hawling with having
robbed himThat he then felt in his Pocket and found that his
Mary was gone and is very sure that the said Giles Hawling< no role >
is the person that robbed him of the same
