Middlesex to Wit


The Information of John Ellingham< no role > of the Crown and
Wool Pack at Islington Carpenter taken before me this
5th. day of January 1782

Who being upon Oath says that about 12 oClock in
the Night of the 26th. of December last he was stopped near the
Turnpike in the City Road by two Footpads who demanded his Life
or his Money on which he endeavoured to run away from them, when
one of them immediately fired off a Pistol at him and wounded
him on the backSays that he is very sure that a person now
present who calls himself James Riley< no role > is [..] one of the said
Footpads that stopped him as aforesaid and is the identical
person that fired at him and wounded him
