The Information of
Edward Chapman< no role >
of Foxton
in the County of Leicester
Grazier
taken
before me this 10th. day of May 1781.
Who being on Oath says that last night between 11 and 12 o'Clock
he was met near Temple
Bar
by a Woman now present who calls
herself Ann Johnson< no role >
with whom he went to the Talbot Inn
in the Strand
to sleep. That before they went to Bed and after
they had bolted the door, he perceived that he had in his
breeches Pocket two Guineas, a Half Crown piece and one
Shilling; and when he arose this Morning he missed the
two Guineas and is very sure that the said Ann Johnson< no role >
feloniously stole the same as no other Person was in
the room from the time of their going to bed when he
had the two Guineas, to the time of his getting up
when he missed them.
Sworn before me this
10th. day of March 1781.}
