And this Informant Henry John Maskell< no role > for himself
saith that about half an hour past Seven oClock
in the Evening of Monday the Eleventh Instant he and
Mr Harrison were coming to Town on the Edgware
Road about the Six Mile Stone a Pistol was
fired at them in their one Horse Chaise soon after
which two Men Passed them on Hose back one
full Gallop and about the five Mile Stone two Men
which he verily believes to be the same two Men
who had passed him came up to their Chaise [..]
with pistols and bid them stop and Demanded
their Money upon which this Informant & Mr
Harrison cryed out keep off or we will Shoot you
the said two Men continuing to Press down upon
the Chaise this Informant & Mr Harrison fired
two Guns at them this Informant thinks that one
of the Men Dropped of his Horse but the Horse
in the Chaise taking fright ran away & they did not see any more
of them till they came to the three Mile Stone
where they continued the Alarm soon after which
the person now present who calls him John Knowles< no role >
fell off his Horse & was taken into Custody & came
to the Cock at Kilburn where this Informant saw
him with his left hand & Arm much Wounded his
Coat Shattered soon after which the other Informant
Robert Leigh< no role > & Rosimond Redman< no role > came up in a
Post Chaise and sayd they had been Robbed a little
before and shewed him his hand that was bloody
saying it was made so by the Highwayman who had
Robbed him & who told him that the sametime
that he had been Shot And this Informant further
saith that the person now present who calls himself
John Knowles< no role > is the person who was so taken into
Custody as aforesaid and that the either Informant
Mr Redman declared the Moment she saw him
at the Cock at Kilburn that the was the Man who
had just before stopped & Robbed the Chaise she &
Mr Lergh were in And this Informant further
