know but what it might be done that way he told the said
Jones that the Plate lay in a Cupboard facing the Pantry door
that about two or three days after the Robbery was Committed
in Mr. Fitzroys House this Informant saw the said Jones
and a person now present who calls himself John Hawkins< no role >
in Company together at the Welch Harp a Public House
in Peter Street Saint James Westminster and saith that
having heard on the Sunday Morning the said House had been
Broke Open the Night before he went on the Monday Morning
to the Sign of the Peter and Key in peter Street to see for the
said Jones and found him in the said House when this
Informant sayd to him so Jones I see it is done (meaning
the Robbery of Mr. Fitzroy) upon which he laughed and
sayed he knew nothing at all of its soon after he calld
this Informant out and bid him hold his Tongue and say
Nothing at all about it he then and lent him either One
Shillings a One Shilling and Six Pence and then left him
that the next day or the day after this Informant saw
Jones a the some House in the forenoon and Mentioned
to him about the Robbery when he desired him to be easy
and Quick as the property was not disposed off and sayd
that there was some false or franch plate plate that
would not come to any thingthen they parted that
about a Week or Ten days after this Informant saw
Jones and Hawkins together at the Welch Herp in
Peter Street and no Conversation passed about the
Robbery but Jones lent him a Shilling or Eighteen
pence some few days afterwards this Informant
met Hawkins in Wardour Street and stopped this
Informant and sayd that he was not better them
he should be for saying that he was Concerned in the
Robbery and after some little Conversation they work
to a public House together where he last him a
