was informed that the Fryal of the said prisoner was then just over
and that she was Discharged by proclamation for want of Evidence And
this Deponent Tipping Rigby Saith that it had been Agreed and settled
between him and the prosecutor that the prosecutor should call on him to go
to the Sessions House to give their Evidence against the said prisoner And
this Deponent not thinking but that the said prosecutor would call in time
before the Tryal of the said prisoner should come on this Deponent in
expectation thereof staid at Home where the prosecutor called on him when
he returned from the Sessions House and informed this Deponent of the
prisoners being Discharged And Lastly these Deponent severally Say
that they did not Neglect to have the said Sarah Lejeune and Maria Rigby< no role >
at the said Sessions to give their Evidence against the said prisoner through
any favour or Affection or for any Reward or the hope or promise thereof
but on the Contrary these Deponents meant and fully intended to bring the
said prisoner to Justice And that such Neglect was entirely occasioned by
the means aforesaid and through these Deponents Ignorance in matter of
this [..] and through no other reason or motive whatsoever Therefore
these Deponents humbly pray this Honourble Court will be pleased to Order
their said Recognizance to be Discharged.
