Middlesex to wit

The Information of William
Hart
< no role > and John Fikes< no role >
taken before Us two of his Majesty's
Justices of the Peace for the said
County

Who being severally upon Oath say and first this
Informant William Hart< no role > for himself saith that he
is in Copartner ship with the other Informant John
Fikes
< no role > and about two Years ago they set up a Starch
Manufactory in Old Street that in the begining of
September last this Informant & his Partner being in
want to Borrow One hundred pounds he applied to one
Mr Jones who he had dealt with for Corn and some
few days after he met the said Mr Jones and a person
now present who calls himself Lyon Elean< no role > when Jones
told this Informant that Elean was the person who would
help him to the Money and the next day the said Lyon
Elean came to this Informants House in Old Street
& told him that he knew an Old Gentleman who would
advance the Money (meaning the one hundred pounds wanted
by this Informants) & the said Elean then told this Informt.
that he was a Broker & that he must pay him his Broker age
which he say'd was a Guinea which this Informt. agreed to
that in about a Week after the said Elean came again to
this Informant and told him that the Old Gentleman would
not part with the Money without Notes and the said Elean
directed this Informant in what manner the said Notes
should be drawn and accordingly three Notes were drawn
under his direction two of them for Twenty pounds each &
the other for One hundred and Sixty four Pounds payable
to the said Lyon Eleanor Orders and the said Lyon Elean
told this Informant that he must accept then Immediately
which he did for himself & [..] Co: the said Elean then
told him that he would being him the Money the next day
& the Next day the said Elean came to this Informant &
told him that the Business could not bed me as the
Gentleman was out of Town but would be in Town in two
or three Days & then he would get it done That on the fourth
day of October the said Lyon Elean [..] met this
