Pocket Books were at the Lodgings of one Boyle
in Carrier Street St Giles which had been Stolen upon
which this Informant went with the other Informant

he found the Persons now present who call themselves

& this Informant searched the Room but found nothing
Ann Vernon refused for somethingtime to be exauhed
& while this Informant & Charles Grubb were struggling
with her to search her she said William Boyle ran
out of Room & got away but was [..] Immediately pursued and
taken by this Informant who left the said Ann Vernon in Custody
of the said Charles Grubb
and this Informant Charles Grubb for himself saith
that he is a Constable & was present with the other
Informant in the Lodgings of William Boyle when
he ran out of the Room & was pursued by Jealous
this Informant kept the said Ann Vernon in Custody
& found thethreetwo pocket Books now produced in her
hands which she attempted to put into the Fire and which are Sworn
to be the property of the this Informant Aaron Fryer< no role >

And this Informant Elizabeth Graveney< no role >
for herself saith
that she has lived with a person now present who calls himself
William Boyle otherwise Burnham for sometime that about a Month ago
the send William Boyle gave to this Informant two
Red Leather Books with Silver round the Edges &
oneSpotted with Silver. and bid her go to a Person
now present who calls herself Sarah Wade< no role >
Who
keeps a Shop
in High Street

ask her whether she would buy them which this
Informant did and the said Sarah Wade took them
from this Informant & went outwith themother's
Informant stayed untill she returned which was in
about Twenty Minutes when she told her that she
had been two Shoper but could not sell them but that
in coming down High Street
she met a Jew who bought
them of her and gave Eight Shillings of Six Pence
