The Information of Joseph Winkleman< no role > at No. 9 in Saint
Martin Street Leicester Fields in the County of
Middlesex Gent taken before me one of his Majestys
Justices of the peace for the said County this 29th
day of March 1774 .

Who upon his Oath Saith that on Thursday the 24th. Instant he
was decoyed into a House in Red Cross Street East Smithfield by
a woman who says her Name is Martha Darnish< no role > with whom he went
up Stairs to a Chamber in the said House where they continued about
a Quarter of an hour when the said Martha Darnish abruptly quiting
the said Room induced him to fear he had been robed and on searching
his Pockets he perceived a green Silk Purse containing Thirteen
Guineas one Moidore and Five Shillings his Money and Property
had been feloniously privately stolen and taken from his Person, and
that he is certain he was possefied of such Purse and Money at the
Time he wint into the Room with the said Martha Darnish that
no other Person but themselves were in the room which with the
sudden Departure of the said Martha Darnish out of such Room
as aforesaid gives him a reason to suspect and he does violently
suspect the said martha Darnish did feloniously privately steal
take and carry away the said purse and Moneys from this said
Informant Person as aforesaid.
