The Information of Sarah Wade< no role > of High
Street Saint Giles in the County of Middx
taken upon Oath before me John Sherwood< no role > Esqr.
one of his Majestys Justices of the Peace for the
said County 17th. November 1774

Who saith that on Monday Sevennight William Smith< no role >
called upon this Informt. to go the Coach & Horses Alehouse
in Saint Giles's to one Welsh who was there, Saith that upon
seeing Welsh he pulled a handkerchief out of his Pocket and
asked her this Informt. to buy it. Saith that she replyed if
he had nothing else, it was not worth her while to buy that
Saith that he then told this Informt. that he had a good deal
more, when she this Informt. asked him where it was, when
Welsh replied it was near Portland Chappel , Saith that
she this Informt. with another Young Woman went with
Welsh in a Coach to the place were the Linen was Saith
that the said Linen was in a Back Kitchen locked up in
the House of Patrick Connerly< no role > in George's Street near
Portland Chapel , Saith that upon seeing a large Quantity
she refused to purchase it or to have any thing to do with
it as she this Informt. was told by Welsh that it was
Run Goods, and she this Informt. seeing a great Quantity
of the said Linens disfigured she suspected the same was
not honestly come by and therefore did not purchase any
Saith that Welsh returned back again with this Informant
and the Young Woman above mentioned to the Coach &
horses aforesaid, when she this Informt. did Welsh a good
Night, and then went home;
