John Wills< no role > at Mr. Copes Peruke maker at Bell Wharf
Shadwell Mariner Maketh oath and Saith that on or about the
Twenty Ninth day of October last this Deponent was bound by
Recognizance in the penal Sum of Forty pounds before John Sherwood< no role >
Esquire one of his Majesty's Justices of the peace for the said County of
Middlesex Upon Condition that he this Deponent should prosecute
Ann Crawley< no role > [..] the then next Session for Feloniously taking and
carrying away from his person Two Guineas his property and this
Deponent saith that he is informed and believes that the next Session
[..] to entered into a Recognizance began on Wednesday the
Eighth day of December last and this Deponent saith that between
the time of his entering into the said Recognizance and the
beginning of the said session he fell from Fore and Aft Dock in the County
of Surrey whereby the inside of this Deponents Body and also the Upper
part of his Hip was very much Bruises insomuch that this
Deponent kept his Room for the space of Three Weeks and was Utterly
unable to go to the said Session to prosecute the said prisoner and this
Deponent saith he did not Neglect to prosecute the said prisoner
through any favour or Affection or for any Reward or the hope or
promise thereof but that it was entirely through his illness aforesaid
therefore this Deponent humbly prays this Honourable Court will
be pleased to order his said Recognizance to be discharged.
