Middlesex to wit

The Information of Mary Fossett< no role > late Servant
to Richard Mitchell< no role > of Leather Lane taken before
me this 11th, day of October 1774

Who being upon Oath says that she lived about two months last past
with the said Richard Mitchell< no role > , that about a fortnight ago her
said Master gave her a Bank Note of the value of one hundred
pounds on Wednesday and desired her to get a Porter to carry
it to the Bank and get it changed and to give the Porter two
or three Guineas for his Trouble, that she knowing one Davis
a Porter
< no role > in St. Dunstan' s Court Fleet Street carried the said Bank
Note to him and desired him to get it changed at the Bank giving
him at the same time a Bag which her Master had ordered
her to buy, that the waited at the said Davis's till he brought
the Cast for the said Note and on receiving it from him she
gave him three Guineas for his Trouble, that the staid at the
said Davis's house 'till 7 o' Clock when she carried the said Cash
to the said Richard Mitchell< no role > 's Wife he being then on Duty at
the Post Office , that the next day the said Richard Mitchell< no role >
asked if she had received the Money to which she answered yes
and that she had given it to her Mistress, that he said Master
desired her to go to the said Davis and tell him that in Case
any body asked her about the Note he should tell them he had
it from a Man and not from a Woman, that the said Davis
not being at home she delivered the said Message to his Wife
