Middlesex to wit


The Information of William Conner< no role > taken
before me this 13th. day of July 1773

Who being Oath says that on the 16th. day of December
last he was present at the house of Philip Waters< no role > now
present with Lewis Poole now present when he this Informant
drew a Receipt for two Guineas paid to the said Lewis Poole by
the said Philip Waters< no role > as a Reward offered by a certain Advertisement
which Receipt contained a Promise that the said Lewis Poole
should return the said two Guineas to the said Philip Waters< no role >
if this Informant did not appear upon a certain Trial
which was expected to come on between the said Philip
Waters
< no role > & some other Person which Receipt the said Lewis
Poole signed and the same was delivered to the said Philip
Waters
< no role > , says that no part of the said receipt was written
by the said Philip Waters< no role > , and further says that he does
verily believe that the Name Lewis Poole signed to a
Promissory Note for Payment of Money now Produced purporting
to be the Promissory Note of Lewis Poole for the Payment
of two pounds two Shillings unto Philip Waters< no role > or Order on Demand
dated Decr. 16 1772 is not of the Handwritting of the said
Lewis Poole but that the same is falsely made forged
and Counterfeited with Intention to defraud the said
Lewis Poole, that he this Informant has never since been
required to appear upon an Trial by the said Philip Waters< no role >
