Richard Jacobs< no role > the said Defendant Maketh Oath that
as to what Elizabeth Welch< no role > Rath deposed in and by her
Affidavit made in this Cause touching any persons
applying to her under the Character of a Friend of this
Deponents to make up the said Prosecution he this Deponent
was not privy on Consenting to any such Application
and knows nothing thereof save from the Affidavit of
Charles Cuthbert Charlton and the said Elizabeth
Welch
< no role > And this Deponent is a total Stranger to any
Application having been made by [..] Thomas Walkinson or any other person or
Persons whomsoever to the said Mary Jackson< no role > or
any other Person to make up or Settle the Matter
of the said Prosecution or to any Person having
paid or proposed to pay unto the said Mary Jackson< no role >
the Sum of Forty Pounds or any other Sum of Money
whatsoever upon Condition that she would promise
not to appear agaisnt this Deponent in the said
Prosecution and this Deponent hath not by himself
or by or through any other Person or Persons
whomsoever used any means whatsoever to influence
or Prevail upon the said Mary Jackson< no role > or any other
Person or Persons to desert the said Prosecution or
not to appear and give Evidence against this Deponent
thereon or been Privy or consenting to any such
Courses, means, or Expedients having been had taken
or used for that Purpose And this Deponent verily
believes that what is Sworn or pretended to be Sworn
by Elizabeth Welch< no role > in the said Affidavit (who as it
appears by the Affidavit cannot write) is an undue
Contrivance to put off the Trial of the said Indictment in
Order to deprive this Deponent of his Liberty till
