The Information of Richard Barnell< no role >
one the Constables of the Parish of Saint
Anne Westminster taken before me
One of his Majestys Justices of the
peace for the said County

Who being upon Oath saith that on Friday
Morning last about 9'o Clock two persons now
present who call themselves John Griffin< no role > and Amey
Mason were offering to sale in Crown Street
in the parish of Saint Anne to several persons
a large Boiling Copper now produced and this Informt
suspected the same to have been stolen upon
which he apprehended the said two persons and
carried them before the Magistrates at the Rotation
Office in Little field Street and upon their Examination
before Mr Welch who was the sitting Magistrates
they both sayd that the said Copper was given
to them by the Father of the said John Griffin< no role > who
was a Fisherman at Strand on the Green near
Brentford upon which this Informant was ordered
by the said Magistrate to go to Strand on the Green
which he did & upon enquiry there found that the
Father had not given them the said Copper & was
a very poor Man in the Workhouses. this Informant
when the returned which was on the Friday afternoon
went to the said Arney Mason & she told him
that the said John Griffiths< no role > & she had stolen the
said Copper out of an unhabited House near the
Widow Broom fields on Shoreham Hill in Kent
this Informant went down to the said place on
Saturday last & found the place from whence the
said Copper was taken which by the description
this Informant gave to one John Snell< no role > a Franner
at Shoreham Hill it is his properly but this
Informant further saith that the said John Snell< no role >
seems a very Old & Infirm Man & very Lame
& told this Informant that he was very near Eighty
