Groves
< no role > For Felony.

Andrew Grant< no role > of Soho Square in the County of Middlesex Esquire
Maketh Oath and Saith that on the Second day of May last he
this Deponent was bound by Recognizance in the Penalty of Forty
Pounds upon Condition that he this Deponent should personally
Appear at the next Session of Gaol Delivery to be held for the County
of Middlesex at Justice Hall in the Old Bailey to Prosecute and
give Evidence against the above named Prisoners Samuel Maile
and William Groves< no role > for feloniously Assaulting this Deponenton
the Kings Highway and taking from his person One Gold Watch
and some Money the property of this Deponent and this Deponent
Saith That in pursuance of his said Recognizance he this Deponent
did Attend at Hicks Hall and preferr a Bill of Indictment against
the said Prisoners for the said offence which Bill of Indictment
was by the Grand Jury returned a true Bill as this Deponent is
Informed and verily believes And this Deponent Saith That about
Ten of the Clock on the Fryday of the said Session (being the time
he this Deponent was directed by Sir John Fieldings< no role > people to Attendg
he this Deponent did Attend this Honorable Court in Order to processcute
the said prisoners but was then informed that the Tryal of the said
Prisoners had been called on but that this Deponent not being
there to give Evidence the said prisoners were set Aside and this
Deponent Saith That he so Attended Until about three of the Clock
of the same day when he this Deponent [..] (totaly ignorant of
the Nature of such Business being the Jns Prosecution he this
Deponent was ever Concerned in) Applyed to one of the Clerks of
the Arraigns and informed him of the purpose of this Deponents
Attendance and requested him if Possible to bring on the Tryal of
the said prisoners who informed this Deponent that the Middlesex
Jury were then Adjournedforand that the Tryal of the said Prisoners
could not come on for one hour and an half or words to that Effect
And this Deponent further Saith That some time after the Middx
