Remained writing in said adjoining Office) and the said Gentleman
Return'd with said Green Bag under his Arm but this Informant
believes Empty; And that after some Small space of Time said Leo
Called this Informant into the Parlour and Told him he had bought
a pair of landlesticks which were to go into the Country as a
Present to a Friend of Mr. Holloway's and that he had bought
them for him for that it would be sending a Sprat to latch a whale
or Words to that Effect And did then Shew this Informants a Bill
Purporting to be a Bill of Parcels of said which amounted to about
Eighteen Pounds And Telling This Informant said Silversmithhad
given this Informant and Two or 3 Months Months Crodit had
given Two or Three Months Credit And Ask'd it this Informant
Could borrow him Fourteen Guineas upon them at Mr. Trip's a
Pawnbroker for He had some Bills to pay to different Persons on his
and Mr. Holloways Account and Order'd this Informant as He
came back form the Pawnbroker's to pay a Bill of Two Pounds and
Three Shillings at the Adelphi Tavern This Informant did
pursuant to such Orders Carry said Silver Candle sticks as
Pair of S [..] ffers and a S [..] ffers Pan to Mr. Trips Pawnbroker
and Mr. Trip would not lend More than Ten Guineas at same
Time ask'd it they were a Compliment to Mr. Holloway when
this Informant told him Probably they might Came thro' that
Channel but that a Silversmith brought them to Mr. Leo's and
Mr. Holloway's Lodgings and Signed a Note leaving them in
this Informant's Name This Informant Saith He did agreable
to his Order Call at the Adelphi Coffeehouse or Tavern and
Order a Dinner and pay said Bill This Informant Return'd
home to Buckingham Street where on his Coming in Mr. Leo
told this Informant He must go and fetch said Goods again
