The Information of Samuel Griffin< no role >
William Garland< no role > & William House< no role > and
Joseph Roman< no role >
taken before me one of his Majesty's
Justices of the Peace for the said County

Who severally being upon Oath say and first this
Informant Samuel Griffin< no role > for himself saith
that about One o'Clock on Sunday morning last
he went with a person now present who called
himself William Smith< no role > to the Rose & Crouse in
Lambard Court and when this Informt. went into
the sd. Honee he had in his Fob Pocket Eight Guineas
& a half in Gold & some Silver and this Informant
went to sloop & when he awaked he seen had his
pocket and Missed the said Money and the said
William Smith< no role > was gone this Informt. saw the
said Wm. Smith< no role > the next morning at the water
side & told him of his Loss & he sayd that he was
very sorry for the & they went & Drank together
where the Rd. William Smith< no role > repeated by concern
at this Informt to losing his Money but did not mention
aword that he had got it that about 11 o'Clock the
same Morning this Informt went to the Rose &
Crown in Lambard Court to engine after his money
and the other Informant William Garland< no role > told
him that he same the manner he was with him
take the Money out of his Pocket & upon this [..]
this Informant took the other Informt William How< no role >
with him & by accident they met with the said William
Smith
< no role > near Covent Garden who told this Informant
that he heard he was charged with taking that money
& that how as going up to the House to See himself
upon which this Infamt told himthat he had
[..] when they came to the said Hose & Crown that
he had not with a man who told him that he had
seen him take the money of his Pocket
and the said William Smith< no role > Smith still denied it &
said that he knew nothing of the matter upon
which this Informant charged the other Informant
Joseph Romans atleast borough with him & the
said Willm. Smith still denied that he knew any
thing of the money
