John Marsh< no role > of White Lyon Yard Grocer Saith That Tuesday
last between Two and three in the Afternoon he saw a Man
in the Pathway on the Other side the Yard who the Crowd there
said was ClarkBelieves there were more than a
hundred People about himThat they were Hussling him
aboutSome had held of his CoatHe was then on
his LegsThat Informant then left his Kitchen (when
he had been) and Came into his ShopThat he went to
his Shop Window but had Lost the ManFound by
the People that he was on the GroundThat whilst he
was on the Ground a Man rather Tall who Appeared like
a Drayman Lifted up his Whip five or Six times and struck
something below which Informant Supposed to be Clark
Who he had seen beforeThat he hath no Idea of the
Face of the Man who used the Whip And thinks he should
not know him againThat the Whip Appeared like
a Draymans WhipSaith he saw no Dray there
That he then left the Window & Did not See the Man get up
Saw no more of the MatterSaith he did not See
any Person Attempt to go to his Assistance
That his Wig was off and One side of his Face Dirty
when Informant first Saw him And Saith that he saw
nothing more done to him than the Whiping
