taken before me this 4th. day of
May 1771

Who being upon Oath says that on the 19th. day of February last one William
Philips< no role > a Lodger at the house of one Mrs. Ryan in Great Castle Street
where this Informant then lived as an Apprentice Servantdid feloniously Ravish and carnally
knew her against her Will and Consent, that she went up into then two pairs
of Stairs Room to make the Said William Philips< no role > 's Bed, that the said William
came into the Room to her having locked the Door of the first Room and
put the Key in his Pocket, that he threw her on the Bed held his hand
on her Mouth to prevent her crying out and by force and against her
Will had carnal knowledge of her as aforesaid, that she told one Ann
Freeman< no role > of the Same that Night who was the Maid Servant of the
said house, says that the said Mrs. Ryan being informed of this Matter
said she would make this Informant [..] Present if she would keep it
a Secret, says she also told her Mother of it about a Month ago
