Who being upon oath says, that he is a Porter and Butler to the Society
of Clements Inn
, says that on Sunday Night last he put up
his Horse about 10 o Clock in a Stable Adjourning to the House of Mr
Greeves a Pawnbroker in Wych Street
, which Stable belongs to this
Informant, says that on the monday morning following about half
an hour past three o Clock he heard an alarm of fire, says he then
went to the aforesaid Stable andhesaw the said Stable on fire says
he then assisted in endeavouring to Put the said fire out, which was
compleated in about half an Hour, says he foundtwothe two bundles
of Matches now Produced, in the said Stable, and further says he
doth verily believe that the said Stable had been wilfully set on
fire, says that when he put up his horse as aforesaid he had a
Candle in a Lanthorn, but never took the Candle out of said Lanthorn
