Who being on Oath severally say and first the said John

for himself Says that he was employed by the Revd.
Mr. Lewis of East Grinstead Sussex about the 10th. of Febry.
last to purchase some Annuties to the Amount of £300 Stock
says he purchased it accordingly, that he inclosed the Receipt
for the said Stock together with a Banker's Note now produced.
in a Letter and directed the same to the Revd. Mr. Lewis at
East Grinstead Sussex on the same day and sent the Letter
to the General Post Office
, says that the Words Hugh Lewis< no role >
indorsed on the back of the said Note were not wrote on the
said Note when he put [..] it into the Letter as aforesaid,
says he has seen the Revd. Mr. Lewis write several times [..]
has received Several Letters from him that he does not
believe the Words Hugh Lewis< no role >
indorsed on the back of the Said
Note to be of the hand writing of the Said Revd. Mr. Hugh Lewis< no role >
but that the same is false forged and counterfeited, and the
said Owen Owen< no role >
for himself Says that a person now present
who calls himself Richard Brace< no role >
published the aforesaid Note
with the Words Hugh Lewis< no role >
indorsed thereon for which he let

for themselves say that they do believe that the said Richard

published the said Note knowing the said Indorsement
on the Said Note to be false forged and counterfeited with an
Intent to cheat and defraud the said Owen Owen< no role >

Say that a Promissory Note of Geo & That Welch and Thomas
Rogers< no role >
to the Revd. Mr. Hugh Lewis< no role >
or Order for nine pounds
