On an Indictment for Bigamy at
the Prosecution of James Doddington< no role >

James Doddington< no role > above Named Prosecutor Maketh Oath
that on or about the Seventeenth day of March last the above named
Defendant was Charged with the said Offence and Committed by Justice
Miller on Suspicion of being Guilty of the Same and was afterwards
Admitted to Bail by the said Justice and this Deponent being the
Person Injured was Bound over to prosecute her and one Alexander
Polson
< no role > a [..] Material Evidence against her as to the Fact was
also Bound over to give Evidence against her at the present
Session And thereupon On Wednesday last this Deponent did prefer
a Bill of Indictment against her at Hicks Hall for the said Offence
and which was Returned a true Bill into Court by the Jury
This Deponent Saith that he subponed the said Polson
and the rest of the Witnesses to Attend and give Evidence
against the said Defendant at the present Session and otherwise
preferred for the Tryal But that soon After the said Bill was
return'd into Court as aforesaid the said Alexander Polson< no role > Absconded
and went away from his Lodgings and Usual place of abode
without this Deponents privity knowledge or Consent and Cannot
be found Although he hath made the most dilligent Search and
Enquiry after him and without whose Testimony he cannot Safely
proceed on the Tryal of the said Defendant And that he hath
great reason to Suspect and believe that he hath been put out of
the Way by some od the Defendant friends
