The Informations of James Howes< no role > of
David Street< no role > Baker taken before me
this 13th.. day of June 1765

Who being upon Oath says that he became acquainted with
Thos. Holland< no role > by his coming to a Lodger of his one Mrs. Pell
the [..] Wife of Captain Pole now at Chatham, at which time said
Holland lived with Lord Spencer, that he never borrowed
any Money of sd. Holland or lent him any [..] or ever drank
with him in any Public House, says that said Holland used
to frequent the Red Lyon in Silver Street by Golden Square
says that while sd. Holland lived with Lady Effingham he did ask
said Holland to loud him two or three Game as which he believes
was about a fortnight before the Fire happened, but that
Holland said he had not half a Guinea, says that it was
not more than a Fortnight before the Fire happened that he asked
sd. Holland for Money as aforesaid, says that some time before
this sd. Holland brought a Draft of £14..10s to his House
to be discounted which he told his Wife wou'd become due the
18th.. of May and that this was the reason of his asking
him afterward to lend him a few Guineas, says
that he recomended sd. Holland to Lady Effingham that when
he came to her house he was very much reduced as he was
informed and verily believes, says he this Informt. had
applied to Lady Effingham before this to lend him Money
from Twenty tothirtyFifty pounds, says that while [..] Holland
was in Newgate he neither sent or went to him
