The Information of

before me this 18th.. day of May 1765
Who being upon Oath says that about three o' Clock this
Morning being asleep in his Bed he was alarmed by the
Ring of a Bell, he presently heard Thomas Holland< no role >
the
Butler
speak to Mrs. Davis Lady Effingham's Maid and
tole her the house was on Fire, that he then slipt on
his Cloaths and ran down Stairs where he found said
Hollandwithstanding with a Bell in his hand dressed
as if nothing had happened, that he had even his Stock
on, Buckles in his Shoes, Garters tied, Breeches
Knees Buttoned and every thing complete
farther says that during the two Months said Holland
had been in Lady Effingham's Service he has always
appeared Care of Mon [..] and borrowed several Shillings of
this Informant
