that immediately his entering said House he heard the
Firing of a Sun in a Room up Stairs on which this Informt,
ran up and found the Room in great Smock or Smother
from the Firing of the said Gun & found the other Informant
John Thomas< no role > attempting to wrench the said Gun out of the hands
of the said Crew who as this Informant believes had wilfully
and maliciously Fired the same loaded with a Bullet
which was afterwards found in the said Room, at the said
John Thomas< no role > , and these Informants John Thomas< no role > and
Francis Lascoe Pewlett< no role > upon their Oaths severally
say that they were employed by the other Informants
William Norden< no role > and Miles Smith< no role > to assist them
in the execution of the Warrant herein before mentioned
and that these Informants entered the House of the said
William Crew< no role > the outward door whereof was open, on
Monday the 13th.. Instant about the hour of six in the
Morning and not seeing the said William Crew< no role > in the
Kitchen which was on the ground floor these Informants
immediately went up stairs, the said Thomas first and
the said Pewlett following him in Order to Search for
the said Crew, and the said Thomas for himself with
that seeing a Key in a Chamber door on the right hand
of the Landing place, this Informt. opened the same and there
saw the said William Crew< no role > in his Shirt sitting upright
on the side of the Bed the Curtains of which were undrawn
with a Gun in his hand which he put to his Shoulder and
presented it at this Informt. whereupon this Informant
instantly stept up towards the said Crew and the Room
being small this Informt. advanced Just in time to turn aside
the Muzzle thereof, at which it instant of time said Crew pulled
the Trigger of the Gun and Fired the same intending
as this
