The Examination of John Jones< no role > of Windmill street
in the Parish of St Pancras in the said County taken
before us two of his Majesty Justices of the Peace for
the said County

This Examt. being Charged upon Suspicion of Feloniously
receiving a Sheep the Property of Tho Scot< no role > knowing the
same to be Stolen

Saith That on Wednesday last about
Nine O Clock in the Morning Thos Clements< no role > brought the
said Sheep to him & offend it to him for Sale And this
Exam diverse time in the Pres [..] of sevl. Witnesses
questioned the sd. Clements how he came by the sd Sheep
and he told him that he drove Sheep from Colebroke fair
for Wages and the over phy he was to pay his Master
And this Ins then bought it of him for four [..]
Shillg. & saith that the Alteration of the Marks
the sd Skin was made by the sd Clement & not
by the Examn. And saith that of he had had any
Suspicion of its being Stolen he wod not have bought
it
