AN INQUISITION indented, taken for our Sovereign LORD the KING, at the House of
John Mason< no role > the Sign of the Coopers Arms Hampton in the
Parish of Hampton in the County of
Middlesex , the Twenty ninth Day of November in the Fortieth Year of the
Reign of our Sovereign LORD GEORGE the Third , by the Grace of GOD of Great-Britain, France
and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before George Hodgson< no role > Gent
one of the CORONERS of our said LORD the KING, for the said County, on View of the Body of
Samuel Stanton< no role > then and there lying dead, upon the Oath of
the several Persons whose Names are hereunder-written and Seals affixed, good and lawful
Men of the said County, duly chosen, and who being then and there duly sworn and
charged to inquire, for our said LORD the KING, when, how, and by what Means, the said
Samuel Stanton< no role > came to his
Death, do, upon their Oath, say, That the said Samuel Stanton< no role > on the
twenty ninth Day of November in the Year aforesaid at the
Parish and in the County aforesaid being behind a certain
Coach there drawn by two Horses It so happened that he
fell from the same to the Ground by Means whereof he
received one mortal Wound of which he then and there
died And so the Jurors aforesaid do say that the said
Samuel Stanton< no role > in Manner and by the Manes
aforesaid accidentally came to his Death and not otherwise
IN WITNESS whereof, as well the said CORONER asthe said James Downton< no role >
the Foreman of the said Jurors, and the Rest of his said Fellows, have, to this Inquisition set
their Hands and Seals the Day, Year, and Place first above-written.
