AN INQUISITION indented, taken for our Sovereign LORD the KING, at the House of
Nathaniel Hill< no role > at Hampton wick in the Hamlet of Hampton wick and
Parish of Hampton in the County of
Middlesex , the Thirteenth Day of December in the Fortieth Year of the
Reign of our Sovereign LORD GEORGE the Third , by the Grace of GOD of Great-Britain, France
and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before George Hodgson< no role > Gent
one of the CORONERS of our said LORD the KING, for the said County, on View of the Body of
Ann brose Lawrence then and there lying dead, upon the Oath of
the several Persons whose Names are hereunder-written and Seals affixed, good and lawful
Men of the said County, duly chosen, and who being then and there duly sworn and
charged to inquire, for our said LORD the KING, when, how, and by what Means, the said
Ambrose Lawrence< no role > came to his
Death, do, upon their Oath, say, That the said Ambrose Lawrence< no role > on the
tenth Day of November in the Year aforesaid at the Parish
and in the County being employed in getting a Pail
of Water out of the River Thames There it so happened that
he fell into the said River and in the Waters thereof was
then and there suffocated and drowned of which said Suffocation
and drowning he then and there died And so the Jurors
aforesaid do say that the said Ambrose Lawrence< no role > in
Manner and By the Means aforesaid accidentally came
to his Death and not otherwise

IN WITNESS whereof, as well the said CORONER asthe said Edward Chitts< no role >
the Foreman of the said Jurors, and the Rest of his said Fellows, have, to his Inquisition set
their Hands and Seals the Day, Year, and Place first above-written.
