AN INQUISITION indented, taken for our Sovereign LORD the KING, at the House of
Richard Peacocks< no role > the Elephant & Castle in Holborn in the
Parish of St. Andrew, Holborn in the County of
Middlesex , the twenty seventh Day of December in the Fortieth Year of the
Reign of our Sovereign LORD GEORGE the Third , by the Grace of GOD of Great-Britain, France
and Ireland, King; Defender of the Faith, and so forth, before George Hodgson< no role > Gent
one of the CORONERS of our said LORD the KING, for the said County, on View of the Body of
Susanna Williams< no role > then and there lying dead, upon the Oath of
the several Persons whose Names are hereunder-written and Seals affixed, good and lawful
Men of the said County, duly chosen, and who being then and there duly sworn and
charged to inquire, for our said LORD the KING, when, how, and by what Means, the said
Susanna Williams< no role > came to her
Death, do, upon their Oath, say, That the said Susanna William on the twenty
fourth Day of December in the year aforesaid at the Parish and in the
County aforesaid being in a Room there wherein then was a Fire It so happened
that the Cloaths which the said Susannah Williams< no role > then and there
had on her Body accidentally took Fire by Means whereof she was
very much scorched and burnt of which said scorching and burning
she languished until the twenty sixth Day of December aforesaid
and then and there died And so the Jurors aforesaid do say that
the said Susannah Williams< no role > in Manner and by the Means
aforesaid accidentally came to her Death and not otherwise

IN WITNESS whereof, as well the said CORONER asthe said John Duncombe< no role >
the Foreman of the said Jurors, and the Rest of his said Fellows, have, to his Inquisition set
their Hands and Seals, the Day, Year, and Place first above-written.
