John Rolls< no role > maketh oath that he was born
at Dundee in Scotland and never did any Act to gain a
Settlement in England That about five Years ago he was
lawfully married at the Parish Church of St Saviour
in Southwarke in Surrey to one Margaret Leahay< no role > Since
deced who was born at Cork in Ireland as he has informed
her & believes to be true That before her Marriage with
him She lived as a hired Servant by the year with one
Jonathan Hamilton< no role > of Tooley Street in the Parish
of St Olave in Southwark in Surrey aforesd Victualld
and that by the Copy of an Examination in Writing
sworn before Peter Whalley< no role > Esqr one of his Majesties
Justices of the Peace for Surrey aforesd on the nineteenth
of Janry 1788 and now read to him it appears that
about Ten years ago this Deponents said late wife
lived with the said Jonathan Hamilton< no role > as a hired
Servant at the yearly Wages of Four Pounds for
one year & upwards there That he this Deponent has
a Child now living named Elizabeth Rolls< no role > aged about
four years the lawful issue of this Deponent by
his said late wife to whom he this Deponent was
lawfully married as aforesaid on the thirtieth day
of September 1782
