Mary Goffe< no role > the widow of Nicholas Goffe< no role >
deced maketh oath that her sd late husband was by Birth an
Irishman & to her Knowledge or belief never did any Act
to gain a Settlement in England That she this Deponent
previous to her marriage with her said husband was retaind
& lived as a hired servant with one Mr Patterson a Victuallr
in the Precinct of St Catherine in the sd County at Certain
Wages & Continued in such service under such hiring for
the Space of two Years & upwards That she has not
since lived elsewhere as a hired Servant for a year
elsewhere nor done any Act to gain a subsequent
Settlement save what she has acquired by marriage
as aforesaid That she hath two Children namely
Eleanor< no role > aged about eighteen years & Ann< no role > aged
about thirteen years the lawful issue of this Depont
by her sd husband to whom she was lawfully married
neither of which sd Children have as yet been married
or lived as a hired Servant in any one place for the
Space of a year or done any act to gain a settlement
in their own right
