William Elzee< no role > maketh oath that he has
been informed by his late Father Peter Elzee< no role > deced &
which he believes to be true that his sd Fathr duly Served
his Apprenticeship with a Shoemaker in the Parish of St
Botolph witht Aldgate in the sd County & that in Consequence
thereof he was by a Certificate under the hands & Seals of the
Churchwns & Overseers of the Poor of the sd Parish of Saint
Botolph witht Aldgate in the year 1713 addressed to the
Churchwns & Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Dartford in
Kent acknowledged to be legally Settled in the sd Parish
of St Botolph witht Aldgate That this Deponts sd Father before
& after the granting Such Certificate lived in the sd Parish
of Dartford where this Depont was born & where his sd Fathr
died That this Depont resided there with his sd Father &
When of the Age of twenty Six Years he was there lawfully
married to his now Wife Mary< no role > That after Such Marriage
had this Deponts Sd Fathr Rented a house of the yearly
Rent of Six Pounds & also Anothr house of the yearly Rent
of Four Pounds & ten Shillgs at one & the Same time in the
sd Parish of Dartford makg togethr the Yearly Rent of
Ten Guineas That this Depont aftr his sd Fathrs Death
rented a house of Four Pounds & ten Shillings in Dartford
aforesd & was Charged to & Paid Poors Rates & Kings
Taxes for the same That this Depont. has not Since rented
a house of the yearly Rent of Ten Pounds or Paid any Poors
Rates or Kings Taxes elsewhere nor was he ever bound
an Apprentice nor ever lived as a hired Servant for a year
nor ever did any Act to gain a settlemt for himself than as
before is Set forth
