Mary Lighton< no role > Singlewoman maketh oath that
sometime ago She was hired & lived as a hired Servant by the year
at certain wages by & with Abigail Macky< no role > of Lower East Smithfield
in the parish of Saint Botolph without Aldgate in the said county
widow & continued in Such Service for near the Space of one year and
a quarter and by means there of gained a legal Settlement there
That She this Deponent has not Since lived as a hired Servant for
the Space of a year else where nor was She ever Married nor has
She done any Act to gain a Subsequent Settlement That She this
Deponent is now with Child & that the said child is likely to be
born a Bastard & to be chargeable to the said parish of Saint
Botolph without Aldgate and that one Lawrence Powers< no role > late
of the same parish mariner & Make of the Ship Salley Captain
Holland Commander & now on a Voyage to the Grenades is the
Father of the said child

maketh oath That She has been informed by her late mother Sarah
Jones
< no role > deced & which information She Believes to be true That She was
born in Hanway Street in the Parish of St Paneras in the County of
Middlesex That this Depont can give no account respecting the
Settlement of her late husband nor of his Parents or either of them
nor can She give any Account respecting the Settlement of her Parents
or either of them That She this Deponent never was bound an
Apprentice nor ever lived as a hired Servant for a year nor ever did any
Act to gain a Settlement in her own right save what She has acquired
by her Marriage as aforesd. That she was lawfully married to her
said husband by whom She hath a child now living named Martha < no role >
aged about Six months.
