ago he rented a house at the yearly Rent of Twelve pounds in upper
East Smithfield in the parish of St Botolph without Aldgate in the
Sd county & lived there in for the Space of three years & upwards.
& by means there of gained a legal settlement there that he
has not Since rented a house of Ten pounds a year or upwards or
Served any Parish office or paid any Poors Rates or Kings Taxes
or done any act to gain anothr Settlement And that he has a
wife named Mary to whom he was lawfully Married

ago he was duly bound Apprentice to one Perrin of Cannons
Marsh adjoining to the City of Bristol Anchor Smith That
he this Deponent did not live or lodge with his said Master
during his Apprenticeship but served him as his apprentice
in the sea service on Board Certain ships which always
came home to the port of Bristol & were moored at or near
the keys there opposite the Parish of St Nicholas in the Sd.
City in which Parish this Deponent in general Lodged on
the return of such ships & also on Board such ships & by
means there of as he is advised gained a legal settlement
in the said parish of St. Nicholas That he this Deponent
has not Since his Apprenticeship rented a house of Ten
pounds a year or upwards or served any parish office or
paid any Poors Rates or Kings Taxes or done any Act to
gain a Subsequent Settlement.
