John Jefferys< no role > maketh oath That divers
years ago he rented a house No 5 in St Catherines Lane in the
Parish of St Botolph without Aldgate in the Sd County of the
Yearly Rent of Twelve Guineas & was Charged to and paid
Poors Rate for the Same & by means thereof gained a legal
Settlement there That he has not Since rented a house of Ten
pounds a year or upwards or Served any parish office or paid
any Poors Rates or Kings Taxes or done any Act to gain a
Subsequent Settlement

< no role > deced maketh oath That her Said late husband in the
month of Janry 1771 took a Lease jointly with one John
Upton
< no role > who is yet living of the Exors of Richd Mount< no role > late of the
Precinct of St Castle [..] in the Sd County Carpenter deced at the yearly
reserved Rent of Thirty Six pounds of a Dwelling house
& Shops with the Appurts Situate in the Sd Precinct for a Term of
years which is yet unexpired with usual Covenants That her Sd husband
there upon went & resided & Continued in the Occupation of the Said
dainsed Dwelling house Shops & premes Where in the Tradcota Smith
was jointly Carried on by him & the Sd Upton for their Mutual benefit
till the death of this Deponts sd husband Which happend in the month
of Septemr 1775 That the Sd Upton did not at all reside or dwell on
the Sd demised premes till about the Space of four Months previous
to the death of this Deponts Sd husband That her Sd husband as She
is advised by the means aforesd was legally Settled in the Sd Precinct
at his death he dying there That She Since his death hath not been
Married nor done any Act to gain a Settlement for herself That She
has two Children namely Elizabeth < no role > aged about ten years and
William < no role > aged about eight years the lawful issue of this Depont
by her Sd late husband to whom She was lawfully Married.
