Mary Playford< no role > maketh Oath that
about Sixteen years ago or thereabouts
she was Married by a Roman Catholick
Priest at the Romish Chapel at Gosport
in the County of Hampshire , [..] to one
James Dumfrey< no role > of that place Mariner
and that she has Two Children living
begotten on her body by the said James
Dumfrey
< no role > Namely Mary Ann< no role > aged upwards.
of Eleven years who was born at Gosport
aforesaid and Margaretta< no role > aged about Seven
Years, who was born in Wableton Street
Portsmouth in the said County & Baptized
at Portsmouth Church , that the said James
Dumfrey
< no role > died about Two years ago, and
that she was never Married to him in
any other manner, than as aforesaid, And
this Deponent further saith that before
her Marriage as aforesaid she was hired as
a Servant by the year to Mr. Clark at
the Dundee Arms Nightingale Lane in the
Parish of St. Botolph without Aldgate in the
County of Middlesex Victualler at the Yearly
Wages of Three Pounds & continued in his
Service under such hiring upwards of Three
Years, that she has not since she quitted his
Service lived as a hired Servant by the Year
in any other Parish or Place for the space of One
Year together or done any Act to her knowledge or
belief to gain a subsequent settlement
