Elizabeth Bench< no role > the Wife of John Bench< no role >
a Seaman on board the Sparrow Cutter in
His Majesty's Service maketh Oath that she
was lawfully Married to her said Husband
at the Parish Church of St. Ann Soho on or
about the Twenty third Day of Septr. One
Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety two
that her said Husband is a Native of
Germany & never did any Act to her
knowledge or belief to gain a settlement
in England, that she this Deponent before
her said Marriage and when she was a
Singlewoman was hired as a Servant by
the Year to Mr. Garkey of Wardour Street
in the Parish of St. James in the City &
Liberty of Westminster Musical Instrument
Maker at the yearly Wages of Six Guineas
& continued in his Service under such
hiring upwards of Two Years & never
did any Act to her knowledge or belief
to gain a Subsequent Settlement except
her Marriage as aforesaid, that she has
Two Children Namely John< no role > aged about
Five Years & Henry< no role > aged about Two Years
the lawful issue by her said Husband and
this Deponent further saith that being Poor
& unable to provide for herself & Children
she has been obliged to apply to the Overseers
of the Poor of the Parish of St. Botolph without
Aldgate Middlesex for Relief & has been relieved
by them accordingly
