Continued Thursday 10th. July 1794 .

That the Committee having met to Contract for some
considerable Repairs wanted to the Hospital and also for
making an Alteration and improvement of the South entrance
received proposals from several persons for performing
the whole of the works mentioned in the Surveyors
particulars Whereupon the Committee had accepted
the proposal of Wm. Packer< no role > for the whole of the said.
Repairs and alterations to be done agreeably to the
said particulars for £899. the same to be completed
on or before the first of November next And the said
William Packer< no role > was to give security for the due performance
of the said Contract by a Joint and Seperate Bond to
be entered into by him and two Persons to be appeared
by the Committee in the penalty of £500.

That the Treasurer had reported that in pursuance of
the reference from the last Committee the Auditors Genl.
Dr. Monro and himself had examined the plan produced
by the Surveyor for Converting some Cells into Rooms for
the Convalesent Patients and approved thereof.

That the Committee also approved of the same & ordered
that the Surveyor do prepare a particular and Estimate
for carrying the same into Execution.

That in pursuance of Public Advertisements the
Committee had contracted with several Persons for
supplying the Hospital with Beer Straw Candles and
Coals for the use of the Patients for 9 Months from
Midsummer next.

And had Resolved that Mr. Smith should continue
to serve the Hospital with the best flour as heretofore
and that Mr. By forest should be paid 4s. a Sack to
Bake the same agreeably to his proposal.
