Continued Thursday 30th. April 1789

To Stale to the House Committee at each of their Meeting Previous to the
four General Quarterly Courts the amount of the Arrears of the Revenues of this Hospital
under his Receipt with a List of all such Tenants whose Rents shall be move than
six Months in Arrears

To provide and deliver out the diet daily for the Prisoners

To see that the Workman Employed in such Repairs as shall be Ordered by
the Committee do regularly attend and do their Duty in such Employ

To direct such Repairs as by accidents or decay may become immediatly
and absolutely necessary to be done, and all others of small Charge and expected
not exceeding forty shillings.

To examine the Workmens and Tradesmens Bills and the Several charges
Therein and see that they be right and pay then as the Committee directs

Tod Attend al Courts and Committees of this Hospital to be ready to be
called in as Occasion shall Happen and to observe such Direction as he shall
receive from Time to Time.

To take care that the payments of the several Insurances on the Buildings
belonging to the Hospital be Made and the several Policies from time
to time received regularly.

To Report to the first House Committee after Lady Day in Every year the
Leaves which are within Three years of expecting and Also such Premise as are
out of Lease and to continued to Report the same to every succeeding committee
hill the Premise have been Retel

And with respect to the Salary and Perquisites of
his Office

It Appears to this Committee that the Steward resides in a House belonging to
the Hospital free of Rent and Taxes and that his Salary and Perquisites are
as Follow

His Salary £100 a years

A Gratuity for making up the General accounts of his Hospital £21 a year

A Gratuity for making up the General accounts of Bethlem Hospital £21 a Year

Gratuities of one Guinea usually received from every new Governors which upon
an average of the last Three years appear to have amounted to 20 Guineas
a year

Acquittances to the Tenants of 1s. 4d each Per Annum which amount to
£20 a year

That he has a Contract for supplying the Prisoners with their daily provisions
at 8d for each and that the annual Exp [..] tenture of the Hospital on this Account
Amounts nearly to £500 a year
