Continued Thursday 30th. April 1778.

Three Artsmasters
to be elected


Street Long Acre Carver and Gilder likewise left his Name
at the Office but did not Attend this Committee and this
Committee is of Opinion that as there are three Artsmasters
Apartments now Vacant it will be proper to Elect one Broad
weaver and two Carvers and GildersAll which is
nevertheless submitted to the Judgment of the Court".

This Court proceeded to the Election of two Carvers.
and Gilders to be Artmasters in this Hospital and the Petitions
of Stephen Jones< no role > and William Edward Lunn< no role > Carvers & Gilders
being severally read and each setting forth he is willing to take such a
Number of Apprentices as the Court shall Order and to keep his
Apartment in repair with Glazing plaistering and white washing
at his own Expence and to comply with all, Orders of the Court and
Committee made and to be made in relation to Artsmasters & each
praying to be Admitted an Artsmaster and the Question being
separately put That the said Stephen Jones< no role > and William Edward
Lunn be Elected Artsmasters It was unanimously carried in the
Affirmative. Whereupon the Right Worshipful Brackley Kennett< no role >
Esquire Aldn . & President declared the said Stephen Jones< no role > and
William Edward Lunn duly Elected.

This Court then proceed to the Election of a Broad
weaver and the several humble petitions of Thomas Dew< no role >
Edward Owen< no role > and Peter Wastell< no role > Broad weavers being severally
read and each setting forth that he is willing to take such a
Number of Apprentices as the Court shall Order and to keep his
Apartment in repair with Glazing Plaistering and White washing
at his own Expence and to comply with all Orders of the Court
and Committee made and to be made in relation to Artsmasters
and each praying to be Admitted an Artsmaster The governors
gave their Ballots which being Cast up the Number Appeared
to be for each as follow Vizt.
