At a
Committee 24th Feb. 1769 In Pursuance of an Order of Court bearg.
Date the 22d. of Decr. last whereby it was referred to this Committee
to consider the Number of governors
of these Hospitals now living
and Report the same to the next Court We have Caused a List
of the governors
to be made and laid before us which we have
duly Considered and do find the Number of governors
now living
to be 325 Whereof we find 190 have Servd as Stewards and have
a Right of Nomination So that if a general Nomination Should
take place this Year the Number of governors
may amount to
515 All which is Submitted to the Judgment of the Court & Ordered
to be Reported to the next Court It is Ordered that a General
Nomination of governors
of these Hospitals be at the next general
Court but one and that Notice thereof be Inserted in the Tickets for
that Day as usual
Gratuities to Beadles
& Porters Man £5 each
Upon Reading the Humble Petition of the four Beadles and
Porters Man for their Gratuities of £5 a piece for the half Year
Ending at Christmas last (pursuant to the Order of Court of the 28th
of July last) for their Salaries are but small It is Ordered that the
Clerk of these Hospitals do Give and pay to them £5 a piece to be
allowed him in his next Account
The like to Basketmen
of 40s. Each
Upon Reading the Humble Petition of the three Basket Men
of Bethlem Hospital for their usual Gratuities of 20s. a piece for the
half Year ending at Christmas last for their Salaries are but small
It is Ordered that the Clerk of these Hospitals do give and Pay
unto them 20s a piece to be allowed him in his next Account
