Upon Reading a Report from the Comittee of this House dated the
14th. of December 1757 under the hands of John Wallington< no role > Esqr. Robert
Gamon
< no role > , John Tuff< no role > Esqr Edwd. Ferrand< no role > Esqr. & Mr. Saml. John< no role > as Follows Viz.
That the Governors by Indre of Lease dated the 15th. day of May 1747
Demised to John Crook< no role > Distiller one Messe or Tenement with the Yard or
Wharfe with the Appurtes being the Sign of the Golden Cock near King Edward
Stairs Wapping To hold from Xmas 1746 for 9 Years at £28 P Ann
Rent clear of Taxes which said Lease will Expire at Xmas 1755.

That the Petitioner has laid out above £20. in repairing the same
and is willing to lake a Lease (with usual Covenants between the Governors
and their Tenants) of the said Messuage for 21 Years from the Expiration of
the said Term in being at £22 P Ann Rent clear of Taxes payable quarterly
at the Compting he use at Bridewell Hospital and to lay out £50 in Necessary
RepairsAnd Mr. Pearson now Attending was Acquainted that the
Comittee find the Leases of Several Houses, Wharfes and ground Contugious
to his house will Expire about Xmas 1763 and it woud be proper to have
a Proviso in his Lease That if the Governors shoud find it Convenient to
take his said Messuage and premisses into their own hands at the end of the
first 8 Years of the Term thereby Demised and Notice thereof in Writing
Signed by the Clerk of the said Hospital of Bridewell shall he given to or
left for the said John Pearson his Extors Aduters or Assigns at the sd. Lease to be
void in respect of the residue of the sd. Term of 21 Years which Mr. Pearson
said he would Consent to if the Governors wou'd Allow him a Compensation for
the Moneys he had laid out in repairs which now Amounted to £100 upon
presumption That his Lease wou'd before 21 Years AbsoluteThe
Comittee having Consider'd the same are of Opinion to Allow him
£50. in Case his Lease shou'd be Determined at the end of the first 8 Years
of the said Term of 21 YearsAll which is Nevertheless Submitted
to the Judgment of the CourtThis Court having duly weighed and
Consider'd the said Report doth Confirm the same And Order that
a Lease be made to the said John Pearson Accordingly.

giving £200 Security}


Orderd that Ann Arthur< no role > lately a Prisoner in France & Exchanged &
now a Lunatick be Admitted a Patient into Bethlem Hospital upon 3 Persons
becomeing Securitys by Bound to the Trear of the Penalty of £200 with
the Usual Conditions of Bonds given for other Patients Admitted into the
said Hospital.
