the Southside of Wapping Street
under a Lease from the Governors
of Bethlem Hospital to

which will Expire at
Xmas 1755 O SAnd one House on the Northside of
Wapping Street Adjoining Eastward to the Sign of the Ship
(formerly
the Bullhead
) which is the South East Corner house of Wapping Dock
Street
which Two houses are held under a Lease from the sd Governors
to the sd. Merryhurst which will Expire at Laday 1755and proposes
to take the sd. Two Houses on the Northside of Wapping Street from
Lady day 1755 for ¾ of a year to Xmas 1755 at the rent of £3
And to take a Lease of all the abovemend. Premes from Xmas 1755
O.S for 21 years And throughly to repair the said Houses to rebuild
the sd. Wharfe & Wharfeage House thereon of Brick instead of
Wood (as it is at present) And to pay £6. P Ann rent clear of
Taxes and to pay a Fine of £150It is Order'd that the
said Petition bereferr'd to the Comittee of this House to consider
thereof and Report their Opinion thereon to the next Court.

and Directed to the Court of Bridewell was read Setting forth
That Mr Sharpe and his Helpmates had brought these Troubles on him
That he cou'd not Appear this day to the Sumons he reced this day And not
before But if he had reced it sooner He wou'd have had many Eminent
Tradesmens hand to have Witnessed that his Servants were kind & well
Used and wanted for Nothing but CorrectionUpon which Mr Trear
Acquainted the Court That Several Complaints having been made to
the Comittee against the sd. Croxford for Ill treatment & Cruelty to his
Apprentices The Comittee had Ordered him to Attend this Court to
Answer the sd. ComplaintsThat he was Elected an Artsmaster
in November 1751That Several Boys had been put to him on
likeing but woud not be bound to him & were put Apprentices to other
ArtsmastersThat he has now 3 Apprentices One bound in Novemr.
1752 And the other two in April and May last who all Complained off
him & said they wou'd not Stay with him Whereupon It is Ordered
That the sd. Francis Croxford be Dismissed from being an Artsmaster
And that he forthwith clear his Appartment in the Hospital.

At this Court the Vacancy of an Artsmaster in the Room of Francis
Croxford Cabinet maker lately Dismissed was Declared And Ordered that
the Election of an Artsmaster be at the next Court & Notice thereof be
Incerted in the Summons's
