in ye room of Ittery


At this Court the humble Petition of William Willby< no role > of the
Parish of Saint Luke in the County of Middlesex Weaver ws
read SettingforthThat the Petitioner had been a Freeman of
the City of London about 23 years during which time he had been set
up in his Trade & brought up Several ApprenticesThat there
being a Vacancy of an Artsmaster In the Room of John Ittery< no role >
lately Dismiss'd And the Petitioner being ready and willing to take
such a Number of Apprentices As the Court shall think fit And to
keep his Appartment in repair with Glazing Plaistering and
Whiting at his Own Expence as is Usually done by the Artsmasters
And to Comply with all Orders of the Court and Comittee made & to
be made in relation to Artsmasters Whereupon the Question
being put the said William Willby was Elected an Artsmaster
till the next Election DayAnd it is Ordered that upon his
Delivering a Certificate of his Settlement to the Clerk & produceing
a Copy of his Freedom of this City He be Admitted Accordingly upon
giving Security as is Usual in the like CaseAnd it is Ordered
that he have such Appartment as the Comittee of this House shall think fit.

Piggot Thos. £10 Fowkes Gift


Mr. Deputy Martindale and Mr Samuel Bridgman< no role > two of the
Governors Reported That in Pursuance of an Order of Court the 25th. Octr.
1754 they had made Enquiry and found That Thomas Piggot< no role > who
Served his Apprenticeship in this Hospital Samuel Geldart< no role > is
set up for himself in his sd. Trade and has the Character of a Diligent
and Sober ManIt is Ordered That the Clerk do pay to the sd
Thomas Piggot Ten pounds out of Mr. Fowkes Gift

At this Court the Charge was read to Sr John Morgan< no role > Barrtt .
as a Governor of these Hospitals

This Court doth Elect William Bragg< no role > of Boreham in Essex Esqr .
to be one of the Governors of these Hospitals And Order that a Staff
be forthwith sent to him Notwithstanding the Order of Court the
29th. of April 1748.
