Stewards of Election Feast 1754


At this Court the Governors hereafter Names Vizt
William Drake< no role > Esqr. Mr. James Humbersten< no role > . Alexr. Forrester< no role > Esqr
Mr. George Whomble< no role > , Mr Richard Sawle< no role > , George Montgomery< no role > Esqr
Sir Philip Musgrave< no role > , James Dawkins< no role > Esqr. Mr. Roger Altham< no role >
Mr Benjamin Gascoyne< no role > , Mr Deputy John Underwood< no role > , and
William Backwell< no role > Esqr were chosen Stewards for the next Election
Day of these Hospitals who are Desired to provide a Dinner
at their Bien Venue for the Resident Treasurer & Governors to
Dine together According to the Accident Custom And in Case
any of the Stewards Elected decline or refuse the same the
Clerk is to Supply the Number in Course.

This Court Doth Elect Benjamine Adamson< no role > Esqr . to be
one of the Governors of these Hospitals And order that a Staff
beforth with sent to him Notwithstanding the Order of Court
the 29th. of April 1748.

Upon Reading a Report from the Comittee of this House
dated the 27th. of Novr 1754 under the hands of Robt. Alsop< no role > Esq
Aldn. Trear Dr. Richard Rawlinson< no role > John Lock< no role > Esqr. Mr. Michl
Martindale
< no role > & Mr. Edwd. Barwick< no role > as follows ViztThis Comee
upon a Strict Enquiry having found that Robert Pointer< no role > (late
Apprentice to Robert Hadwen< no role > Tailer ) behaved himself with
Exemplary Diligence & Sobriety during the whole time of his
Apprenticeship are of Opinion he deserves Ten Pounds
of Mr. Fowkes Gift (besides the Ten pounds he has received
of Mr. Locks Gift by Order of Court) And hope it will be an
Indmement to other Apprentices in this Hospital by a like
behavior to recomend themselves to the Governors for the like
favours All which is Submitted to the Judgment of the Court
This Court having duly weighed and Considered the sd. Report
doth Confirm the same And Order that the Clock do pay
the sd. Robert Pointer Ten Pounds out of Mr. Fowks Gift
