Edward Umfreville< no role > Esqr and Mr Richard Manby< no role > Reported that in
Pursuance of an Order of Court the 21st. of March 1753 they had
made Enquiry & found That George Lane< no role > Weaver who Served his
Apprenticeship in this Hospital to George Male< no role > is set up for
himself in his sd Trade and has the Character of a Diligent &
Sober ManIt is Ordered That the Steward do pay the
said George Lane Ten pounds out of Mr. Locks Gift.

a Gratuity of 25 Guineas}


A Motion being made That in Regard to the Extraordinary
Diligence of Mr. Richard Pice< no role > the Porter of this Hospital
a Gratuity be given him for his good Services for the time Passed
since the Court gave him a Gratuity And the Sum of Twenty
Five Guineas being now Proposed & the question thereupon putIt is Ordered that
the Clerk do pay to the said Richard Pice Twenty five Guineas
as a Gratuity for his said Services.

after for Locks Gift


Upon the humble Petition of John Lambert< no role > Pinmaker
Settingforth he Served his Appenticeship her to Jeffry Gillingham< no role >
by Indre dated 10th. April 1745 And by Order of Court the 24th. of
November 1752 was made free of this City and is Set up for
himself at Mr. Francis Pearson< no role > s Wyre drawer in White Rose Alley
in White Cross Street And Praying some part of Mr. Locks Gift to
enable him to carry on his TradeMr. William Seaward< no role > , Mr
William Singleton< no role > & Mr. Richard Riley< no role > or any two of them
are desired to enquire whether he be set up in his sd Trade &
of his hopefulness therein and to Report to the Court.
