Upon reading a Report from the Comittee of this House bearing date the 31st of
October last under the hands of Edward Holleway< no role > Esqr Trear Dr . Richard Rawlinson< no role >
Mr. John Lee< no role > Mr. Edward Dod< no role > and Mr. Thomas Morris< no role > as followsAt this Comittee
the Petition of Edward Shephard< no role > of Saint Martins Lane Charing Cross Baker was
read SettingforthThat the petitioner proposes to take a Lease with Such
Covenants as are usually contained in the Leases from the Governors to their Tenants
of the House he no dwells in Scituate in St. Martins (Lane for Twenty one Years to
a Counterpart of such Lease the Governers putting the premisses into Tenantable
repair & allowing the Landlax and prayed a Lease According to his Said proposalls
The Comee not approving the said proposalls the said Edward shepherd< no role > withdraws
to consider of the mater and being called in Again he made the following
proposalls vizt. to take a Lease of the said House for 21 Years to commence from
Laday next at the yearly Rent of £22 payable quarterly clear of all parliamentary
or other Taxes or Deductions whatsover and to put the premisses into repair according
to an Estimate delivered into this Comittee amounting to £42.14.11 and to execute
a Counterpart of such LeaseThis Comee having considered the said proposals
[..] of Opinion to Accept the same upon which the said Edward Sheppherd< no role > gave as
Guinea to the Poors faxIt which nevertheless is submitted to the Judgement
of the CourtAnd it is ordered that this Opinion be reported to the Court
This Court having duly weighed & considered the said Report doth
confirm the same & order that a Lease be made to the St. Edwd shepherd accordingly

the Petition of Cornelius Taylor near King Edward Stairs at Wapping Draper
was read Setting forthThat the Governors by Indenture of Lease bearing date
the 10th. day of October 1673 in cons of the Surrender of a former Lease Mr. [..] thereof hope Mistresses on the Ground where on
There Messuages then lately Stood but were burnt down desired unto John
Parker
< no role > and anne < no role > his WifeAll those Tofts Ground and Soil whereon said
Three Messuages lately Stood Scituate on the South side of Wapping Street containing
in front next Wapping Street from East to West Forty six foot Three Inches and
next the Thames Forty Four foot and in depth North and South from Wapping
Street to the Thomas adutting East on a Tenement late in Occupation of Thomas Wollen
Weston a Tenement in Occupation of Ann Jackson< no role > North on Wapping Street
and South on the Thames To hold from Laday 1673 for 2 Years at the
Yearly rent of £8 which Lease expires to Laday 1745That the Petitioner
proposes to take a Lease of the said Premisses for the Term of Twenty one pears
to commence from the Expiration of the Lease in being and to pay the yearly
Rent of £8 by quarterly payments clear of all Taxes and to lay out £300 in
repairing the premes and the Lease to be made with Suck Covenants as are
usually contained in the Leases to your Tenants at Wapping and to pay a fine
of £90 and to execute a Counterpart of Such LeaseAnd prayed the
Governors to Grant him a A Lease According to his said ProposallsAnd the
said Cornelius Taylor< no role > having at Several times made Proposalls which the
Comee thought to little [..] this day made the following Proposalls Vizt. to
Take a Lease of the said Premes with Such usual Covenants are contained
in the Hospital Leases to their Tenants at Wapping for Twenty one Years to
comence from Laday next at the Yearly Rent of £12 payable Quarterly clear
of all Taxes and to pay a Fine of £200 and to lay out £300 in repairing the
Promisses and to execute a Counterpart of such LeaseThis Comee having
considered the said proposalls are of Opinion to Accept the Same upon which
the said corneluis Taylor gave a Guinea to the poors CoxAll which
nevertheless is submitted to the Judgment of the CourtAnd it ordered
that this opinion be reported to the CourtThis Court having duly weighted
& considered the said Report doth confirm the same & Order that a Lease
be made to the said Cornelius Taylor< no role > accordingly.
